You are worthy.
Act on your instincts so you don’t have to react to the instincts of others.
You can’t fake the core. Don’t force yourself to be different, learn to live in harmony with what you are.
Stay curious at all times. Ask why until you actually understand the answer. Don’t try to be “right.”
Other people are not dangerous and they are not judging you. They are your greatest source of joy, strength, and happiness.
You are not responsible for making everybody happy and okay.
You are not expected to know the answer to every question before it’s been asked.
You do not tolerate bullying, in yourself or in others.
If you make a mistake or hurt somebody, you will acknowledge it and make what repairs you can immediately.
You enact and defend kindness in all you do.
Asking for what you need is honest and kind; suppressing your needs is dishonest and leads to resentment and hurt.
Taking care of your own needs allows you to take care of and serve others.
Saying no is a way of saying yes to what really matters.
What lies on the other side of fear? Nothing.
The cloud of unknowing is just a cloud. It scares you because you haven’t spent enough time passing through it.
Once you get comfortable with being noticed, you can get curious about other people and connect without walls.
The stories you tell yourself are just that: stories. The best thing to do when you hear them is to pause, question whether you can be certain they’re true, and ask whether they’re making your life better. If not, turn to what is – the reality that is happening right now.
“The ocean waves, the universe peoples.” - Alan Watts
“The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” - Henry David Thoreau
“Where do these innate assumptions come from? Not from what
We think truest, or most want to do:
Those warp tight-shut, like doors. They’re more a style
Our lives bring with them: habit for a while,
Suddenly they harden into all we’ve got” - Philip Larkin
Resistance is brilliant and insidious and effective at keeping you in stasis. The best thing to do is the exact opposite of what Resistance tells you.
Humans are not perfectible. You are a work in progress, and the progress will continue. But you are progressing.
Act. Decide what you want and what to do about it, and act.
“Joy is exactly what is happening, minus our opinion of it.” - Charlotte Joko Beck
It’s okay to not feel okay.
Curiosity is the cure for social anxiety. Get interested in other people.
You genuinely enjoy spending time with other people. Do it more often.
Care for others as they would like to be cared for, not as you would.
Disappointing people with the truth is much better than pleasing them with a lie.
You have infinite things to be grateful for. Widen the lens, see the vista and remember that your problems are small and the world is vast and beautiful.
When you’re angry, embrace the anger. It’s a part of you and it’s not wrong.
“If I had a prayer, it would be this: ‘God, spare me from the desire for love, approval, or appreciation. Amen.’” – Byron Katie
"Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is." – Ernest Hemingway
“One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” – Paulo Coelho
